Frequently Asked Questions

If you’re not familiar with wood floors, you might have some questions. Here are some answers below.

  • • Q: I’ve been fine with carpet all of my life. Why should I switch to wood?

    • A: People have different preferences, so there’s no wrong type of floor. But, wood is easier to maintain than carpet and do not trap odors. Wood floors, both parque and real, last a lifetime.
  • • Q: Speaking of, how do I maintain my wood floors?

    • A, Part 1: This might sound odd, but try not to clean your wood floor TOO much. Damp mopping about once a month is sufficient. To mop, pour one part white vinegar in
10 parts warm water. Although wood floors do have a protective coat, be sure to be careful and not scratch it up. We recommend using furniture pads. Due to how heavy furniture is and since your couch/furniture typically stays in one spot, it can wear down on your floor and scratch it up when it moves around. Also, avoid walking on the wood floor in high heels. This can leave dents in wood floor.
    • A, Part 2: Speaking of scratching, we recommend using a vacuum specifically made for hardwood floors. If you don’t want to sweep, use a Swiffer instead. Rugs are a nice touch and protect your floor from high foot traffic. Regular professional maintenance is advised as well. Lastly- closely inspect your floors for termites, water damage, or any underlying problems.
    • Note: If you see something concerning about your floor, call us immediately. We’ll come look at it and figure out a solution.
